Johnson County Fair

We went to the Johnson County Fair. I took the kids to see the animals during the day. They had a great time feeding the animals. At first, they were a little nervous. Maeve even refused to cross the threshhold into where the animal area was for a few minutes. After a while, though, they had a great time. Maeve seemed to like the little animals like the bunnies and ducks, while Kent said he liked the donkey, mule and sheep best. Once Patrick got home from work, we went back to the fair for the carnival. We let Kent go on a few rides and then we gave him $10 from his bank to spend how ever he wanted. We thought it was a good idea to let him practice spending money. He bought himself a caramel apple, played a game and won a sword, rode a roller coaster, and played in the moon walk. Maeve was too small for most of the rides but she chose to ride on the motorcycles, which she called "biker cycles". When we were driving home they both kept saying "That was fun!"
