We got taffy and fudge while we were on Mackinac Island. Of course there were some arguments.
Yum! Salt Water taffy!
We were so excited about the rocks at Lake Superior. Here the kids are cleaning them at the faucet.
The camper kids and our tent.
We loved that just across the street from Lake Muskellunge was Lake Superior.
The beautiful rocks!
Looking for rocks and doing some beach ballet...
Maya on the beach. Maya didn't care where we went as long a she was included.
One devoted dog!
Cooking beans on the fire
Kent and Maeve played together a lot. That's what I love about camping. No tv. no toys. no schedule. just each other
Campground races...
Maeve and Patrick showing their muscles. The kids think that their muscles are in their elbows. Its pretty funny. We haven't corrected them.
Maeve looking a little like a pageant princess.
Of course there was A LOT of campground dancing and singing from Maeve
We had beans and rice and vegetables for dinner.
After dinner we took a walk along Lake Muskellunge. Maeve ripped her pants while climbing on a log.
Digging for clams
Digging for clams but finding seaweed.
Kent did not appreciate Maeve and her water kicking while he was looking for clams. He kept yelling, "QUIT, MAEVE!"
Maeve splashing
"Maeve, where are your pants!?"
Beached whale
Searching for clams under the moon
We didn't get any clams but we got a lot of tiny white shells.
Looking for shells.
Eating camp cones. Instead of smores we put marshmallows and chocolate chips in sugar cones, wrapped them in foil and put them in the fire. They were delicious!
My three favorite people
Sleep time. Kent and Maeve slept in the same camping cots that Patrick and Dan slept in when they were little. So precious! However, their sleeping bags are new. They got them from us for Christmas last year.
